Founded in 2018, RDG’s purpose is to empower households, businesses, and communities by facilitating access to an ecosystem of products and services that unlock potential and transform lives in Zambia and across Africa. Our mission is to positively impact 500,000 lives by 2026, by providing access to affordable Solar Home Systems (SHS), Productive Use Energy appliances, and a countrywide logistics network, unlocking opportunities to improve livelihoods.
RDG currently offers the following products, all on a PAY-AS-YOU-GO (PAYGo) basis:

By providing PAY Go ‘credit’, Solar Home Systems (SHS), Solar powered Fridges, and Solar powered Water pumps become affordable and obtainable, helping to transform the fortunes of households throughout Zambia and beyond. Below are key findings of the current impact of RDG products:
– Customers are generating additional income from using their SHS, Fridges and Water Pumps
– Customers have more money available because of savings and income generated from their products
– Customers report an improved quality of life.
Customers can apply to receive a PAYGo product loan and be approved within 15 minutes. Once approved, the customer makes a small initial deposit to receive the items. Thereafter, the customer makes daily, weekly or monthly PAYG repayments until the pre-agreed loan total has been paid off. Once fully paid off, the system becomes permanently unlocked, allowing the customer to enjoy unlimited usage of the product.
In order to impact 500,000 lives by 2026, RDG operates a large network of Sales agents located across rural and urban areas, who are tasked with visiting businesses and households, demonstrating the benefits of RDGs range of Solar powered products and providing free installation for new customers. To further ensure customers receive Zambia’s best after-sales service, RDG operates shops and service centers across 8 Zambian provinces.
