On 17th February 2026, the Solar Industry Association of Zambia (SIAZ) convened a strategic Members’ Breakfast Meeting with senior representatives from the Ministry of Energy (MOE) to engage on the Presidential Constituency Energy Initiative (2MW per Constituency).
The initiative forms part of Zambia’s broader efforts to strengthen national energy security and accelerate solar deployment across all constituencies.
As the representative body of Zambia’s solar industry, SIAZ continues to facilitate structured policy dialogue between government and private sector stakeholders. The engagement created space for constructive exchange on key thematic areas, including:
- Implementation frameworks
- Procurement governance principles
- Local industry participation mechanisms
- Capacity development considerations
- Sustainability and long-term operational models
- Cost and regulatory considerations
The engagement reaffirmed the importance of early stakeholder engagement and coordinated public-private collaboration in advancing scalable and sustainable energy solutions. It marks another step toward deeper industry-government coordination in advancing Zambia’s solar transition.
