The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) has released the following compulsory standards for solar products and systems:

  • ZS 403: Batteries for Use in Photovoltaic Systems
  • ZS 404: Charge Controllers for Photovoltaic Systems Using Lead-Acid Batteries
  • ZS 405: Photovoltaic Systems Design and Installation – Code of Practice for Off-Grid Systems

SIAZ encourages all members, importers, suppliers, installers, and stakeholders in the solar sector to ensure that any solar equipment being imported or supplied in Zambia is compliant with the applicable compulsory standards

Referring to and complying with these standards is important in avoiding inconveniences relating to product compliance, market surveillance, and regulatory requirements.

For further information or to obtain copies of the compulsory standards, stakeholders are encouraged to contact or purchase them directly from the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA).
